The Organizing Committee Prepares for Olympic Day, Involving Diverse Sports Federations

Seef District - Bahrain Olympic Committee:

 

The Bahrain Olympic Committee is gearing up for the upcoming Olympic Day event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the "Water Garden City Beach" area in the Seef District. The event enjoys the gracious patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

 

The organizing committee, led by Mr. Maden Al Wanas and in the presence of the heads of various working committees, has conducted a series of preparatory meetings to ensure the seamless execution of the event under the guidance and oversight of His Excellency Mr. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

 

Participating Federations

 

A host of sports federations will participate in the Olympic Day event, each having its designated area, allowing attendees to engage in various sports and activities. The event will feature beach soccer, beach soccer, boxing, judo, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, karate, kickboxing, marine sports, padel, swimming, triathlon, and weightlifting.

The Olympic Day event has garnered significant support from private sector entities, notably the STC Telecommunications Company and Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Company, demonstrating their commitment to bolstering the sports movement in the Kingdom and their integral role in supporting community service programs.

 

The event is also sponsored by Dallah Company, Yousef Bin Ahmed Kanoo Company, Air Arabia, Water Garden City, SEEB MARINE, NUUN OFFICIAL, and Black Castle Academy.

 

Objectives of Olympic Day

 

Olympic Day, annually celebrated on June 23 upon the invitation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), serves as an opportunity for the Bahrain Olympic Committee to align with the global spirit of this event. This year's edition, scheduled for November 4, is chosen to ensure optimal conditions for the event in light of favorable temperatures and weather conditions. The event upholds the theme "Let's Move for Sports and Health for an Active Society," aiming to promote the Olympic values of respect, friendship, peace, and commitment.
