The Bahrain National Olympic Committee (BOC) is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Established in 1979, the BOC is a non-governmental, autonomous corporate legal entity, encompassing all national sports federations and associations in Bahrain.

The Committee is governed by a Constitution in line with the requirements of the IOC Olympic Charter. The Constitution sets outs the Committee’s overall rights and roles; as well as the specific functions of the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, the President and the Secretary General.

Over the past four decades, the BOC has organised and led Bahrain delegations to major sporting events at an international, continental and regional level. The Kingdom has competed in nine Olympic Games since 1984, with a total tally of three medals – two Gold and one Silver. A participant of ten Asian Games since 1982, Bahrain has won a total of 85 medals – 37 Gold, 25 Silver and 23 Bronze. The Kingdom has also competed in seven Pan Arab Games since 1985, winning a total of 70 medals – 24 Gold, 19 Silver and 27 Bronze.
