Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the second meeting of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the 3x3 World Basketball Tour took place at the Bahrain Olympic Committee headquarters. The meeting was held to finalize the preparations for the championship, which is scheduled for November 16 and 17.
Commencing the gathering, His Highness expressed appreciation for the committee's efforts and welcomed all members. With just two weeks remaining until the global tour, it was decided that entry for fans would be free of charge. This initiative aims to encourage the attendance of basketball enthusiasts and the public, ensuring a vibrant and engaging atmosphere at the World Tour, a milestone event to be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the guidance of the International Basketball Federation.
As part of the endeavor to maximize fan engagement, the organizing committee announced various exciting incentives for attendees, including prized giveaways such as travel tickets. The Kingdom of Bahrain will participate with two teams in the tournament, with further details set to be revealed in due course. A press conference is scheduled for November 15 at the event site to announce comprehensive details concerning the tournament's hosting and the participating teams.
The meeting encompassed a thorough review of logistical arrangements encompassing accommodation, transportation, and security measures. A presentation by Mr. Khalid Jamaan from Pico highlighted the latest progress in event preparation, emphasizing the Kingdom of Bahrain's stellar reputation and its capacity to host prestigious international competitions. Additionally, the Ministry of Information's representative, Mr. Abdullah Khaled, outlined the media plan, featuring a comprehensive advertising campaign and special programs on the sports channel, along with daily news coverage.
The Tourism Authority shared insights into their marketing and promotional campaign, while the Ministry of Interior presented their security arrangements to ensure a safe and successful event. The tournament will take place in the Financial Harbor North Square, where custom 3X3 basketball courts, stands, and an array of amenities and services will be provided to cater to the needs of attendees. An open invitation was extended to citizens, residents, and communities to participate in this momentous sporting extravaganza.
