Athletics Leads the List of Participants in the "School Games"

Athletics, known as the "mother of all games," tops the sports list in the International School Games (Bahrain 2024) with 518 participants, including 285 male and 233 female athletes. Swimming follows with 401 athletes, consisting of 184 boys and 138 girls.

 

The Kingdom of Bahrain is gearing up to host the largest tournament in the history of international school sports, taking place from October 23 to 31. The event will bring together a total of 3674 athletes, with 1542 girls and 2172 boys competing across 26 different sports.

 

The event showcases a wide variety of sports, reflecting the athletes' passion for competition. The participation in each sport includes 90 players in shooting (42 girls and 48 boys) and 133 players in badminton (66 girls and 67 boys). Basketball 3x3 will have 239 players (87 girls and 152 boys).

In beach volleyball, 113 players (39 girls and 74 boys) are competing, while 204 players (43 girls and 161 boys) will compete in boxing. Chess will feature 117 players (46 girls and 71 boys), and sports dance will include 39 athletes (22 girls and 17 boys).

 

Fencing has 101 participants (52 girls and 49 boys), aerial gymnastics includes 39 athletes (34 girls and 5 boys), and artistic gymnastics will have 88 athletes (51 girls and 37 boys). Rhythmic gymnastics will see 80 competitors (40 girls and 40 boys), and handball will involve 189 athletes (79 girls and 110 boys).

 

Judo will see 166 participants (55 girls and 111 boys), karate 199 athletes (86 girls and 113 boys), orienteering 36 players (20 girls and 16 boys), and padel 47 participants (10 girls and 37 boys).

 

For athletes with special needs, athletics will have 43 participants (16 girls and 27 boys), badminton 5 players (1 girl and 4 boys), judo 16 participants (6 girls and 10 boys), and swimming 33 athletes (9 girls and 24 boys). Table tennis will feature 137 participants (47 girls and 90 boys), taekwondo 322 athletes (138 girls and 184 boys), tennis 93 participants (37 girls and 56 boys), and wrestling will have 279 athletes (89 girls and 190 boys).
