Rehearsals for International School Games Opening Ceremony Continue at the Ministry of Education

Rehearsals for the opening ceremony of the 2024 International School Games, set to take place in Bahrain from 23 to 31 October under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, are progressing steadily. The Higher Committee, chaired by His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, continues to oversee the work of its subcommittees, including the Opening Ceremony Committee led by Her Excellency Ms Kifaya Al-Anzour, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Services at the Ministry of Education.

The rehearsals were conducted in the Ministry of Education Hall in Isa Town under Ms Al-Anzour and Dr Nader Jamali, Director of the Sports Education Department. These sessions are the final practices before the concluding rehearsals, scheduled to take place at the Bahrain National Stadium, the venue for the official opening ceremony.

Participating students from Isa Town Secondary School for Boys, Riffa Intermediate School for Boys, Muharraq Primary School for Girls, and Amna Bint Wahab Primary School for Girls showed great enthusiasm, presenting a variety of artistic and sports performances that reflect the diverse talents of Bahrain's youth.

Bahrain's school athletics team for people with disabilities has intensified preparations ahead of the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), which the Kingdom will host from October 23 to 31 under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. The training programme involves daily sessions on the outdoor track at the Isa bin Rashid Sports Halls Complex in Riffa, along with gym sessions to enhance technical skills and physical fitness ahead of the competitions.

Under the supervision of specialised trainers, the team focuses on improving the athletes' technical and physical performance while also preparing them psychologically for the challenges they will face during the tournament. Team spirit and cooperation are being reinforced to ensure all members are ready to compete at their best.

Eman Hassan, Technical Director of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, expressed optimism about the team’s preparations. She highlighted the importance of the support provided by the authorities and local community for athletes with disabilities. She noted that the tournament offers an important opportunity to showcase the athletes' achievements and raise awareness about their abilities in the Paralympic field.

Eman further explained that the key goals of this participation are to gain experience, identify emerging Bahraini talent in the sport, and compete for medals. The readiness of the national team and the preparations already underway make Bahrain well-positioned to perform well in the Games.

The team’s organisers are working hard to provide everything the athletes need to ensure their comfort, which will help deliver a strong performance during the competitions. Media Committee Discusses Latest Preparations and Confirms Readiness for the Tournament

On Thursday, the Media Committee meeting for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024) was held at the tournament’s Executive Committee headquarters in Seef District. His Excellency Mr Ali Isa Ishaqi, Chairman of the Executive Committee, chaired the meeting, which was attended by Hasan Ali, Chairman of the Media Committee, and committee members.

The committee discussed the latest preparations for the global event, which brings together school students from various countries. Each member was assigned tasks and responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on coordination between the different committees involved. The meeting also reviewed media plans, task distribution, and strategies to ensure the event is comprehensively covered by all media outlets.

Mr Ishaqi expressed optimism regarding the tournament’s success, underscoring the media's crucial role in enhancing Bahrain’s image as a leading sports destination. “We are working tirelessly to ensure that the necessary support and resources are in place, which will facilitate the smooth and effective organisation of the event, reflecting Bahrain’s dedication to excellence in hosting international sporting events,” he said.

Additionally, Ishaqi highlighted that the committee is focusing on developing creative media strategies, including using social media platforms to increase awareness of the tournament and its associated activities. He voiced his confidence in the committee members, led by Hassan Ali, in showcasing Bahrain and the tournament in the best possible manner, praising their professionalism.

Ishaqi also emphasised that the tournament presents a valuable opportunity for young athletes to foster cultural exchange and strengthen relationships across borders. Distribution of selected hotels for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024) to participating delegations

The Housing Committee for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024) announced the distribution of selected hotels to the tournament delegations, including 80 school sports federations representing 70 countries.

The distribution was based on each country, as the Housing Committee, headed by Abdul Redha Ashoori, selected 21 hotels qualified to host teams and players. This selection included considering international standards in the quality of services and facilities to ensure the comfort of all participants during the tournament.

 

In this context, Abdul Redha Ashoori expressed his happiness with the success of the hotel selection process, stressing the importance of providing a comfortable and safe environment for delegations, and pointed out that the selected hotels provide a variety of facilities, including meeting rooms and rest areas, which contribute to enhancing the participants' experience.

Ashoori confirmed that committee members will be present in various hotels during the tournament to discuss all matters and facilitate the accommodation process for participating delegations, stressing the committee's readiness to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of this international sporting event.

 

This step is a prominent sporting event that aims to strengthen cultural and sporting ties between young people worldwide.

 

Events Organising Committee Prepares for the Launch of the International School Games (Bahrain 2024)

The Events Organising Committee for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024) is preparing to commence its organisational tasks as the tournament approaches. The committee, composed of experienced personnel and headed by Dr Nader Jamali, coordinates all events across the competition sites.

 

Tasks include overseeing events at Isa Sports City under the direction of Jassim Al Kuwari, Khalifa Sports City led by Mohammed Al Humaidi, and additional shared sites under Ibrahim Al Wasti's management. The committee aims to ensure a seamless experience for teams and fans by coordinating access, player entries, and award ceremonies, reflecting its commitment to delivering a world-class sporting event.

 

Scout leaders will be appointed at each stadium to assist teams and spectators and ensure the smooth running of the events.
