5,651 Participants Representing 80 School Federations and 70 Countries
The Executive Committee of the International School Sports Games (Bahrain 2024) held a coordination meeting chaired by His Excellency Mr. Ali Isa Ishaqi, with the presence of committee members to discuss the preparations and developments related to the games.
At the start of the meeting, Ishaqi conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, to all committee heads.
Ishaqi reviewed the latest accomplishments and assessed the work plan of the committees involved, with preparations nearing completion just two weeks before the event's launch. The meeting also discussed the needs of the committees during the upcoming period to ensure full readiness before the commencement of this significant school sports event hosted by the Kingdom.
The Chairman expressed his satisfaction with the work being done and Bahrain's level of readiness for this event. He emphasised the need to intensify efforts in the coming period to reflect the Kingdom's prestigious image in hosting international sports events.
Ishaqi revealed that the number of registered participants has reached 5,651, representing 80 school federations from 70 countries. This exceeds the initial target agreed upon between the International School Sports Federation (ISF) and Bahrain, which was set at 4,000 participants. Furthermore, 21 hotels, ranging from 4 to 5 stars, have been selected to accommodate the participants, with all the necessary facilities prepared to receive the sports delegations.
He also discussed the event's list of sponsors, upcoming key activities, and delegation arrival dates. The committee confirmed the readiness of the sports venues and facilities, with the General Sports Authority actively working to prepare the venues according to the event’s standards.
The meeting touched upon the work progress of the different committees and their requirements to ensure the event’s success. Ishaqi stressed the importance of doubling the efforts and collaborating with all committees to achieve the event's goals.
