Bahrain's Swimming Team Continues Preparations for the International School Games – Shamsan:

Bahrain’s national swimming team is intensifying preparations for the International School Games, which will be hosted in Bahrain in 2024. Preparations began six months ago with daily training sessions held at Nasser Rehabilitation Centre’s gym and pool. The team consists of 20 swimmers, 14 male and six female, all in their final phase of preparation.

The swimmers have recently participated in a local school tournament, which was an essential step before the international competition, helping them test their skills and refine their performance. Assistant coach Abdullah Shamsan highlighted that the primary objectives are competing and achieving new personal records, especially with the extensive international participation. He added that this competition will provide swimmers with invaluable experience, enhancing their chances for positive results in future championships.

Shamsan emphasised that training includes various technical and physical methods to improve speed and endurance. The coaching staff is working to create a positive and encouraging environment for the athletes, foster teamwork, and instil the values of fair competition.

Bahrain’s swimming team aims to deliver a performance that reflects the sport's development in the Kingdom and hopes to secure top positions in international competitions. The team stresses the importance of competing against international athletes, as this will help enhance their skills and increase their chances of achieving new sporting accomplishments.

As Bahrain prepares to host this major event, the Kingdom sees it as an opportunity to strengthen its sports identity and support its youth in their athletic journey.
