Her Excellency Shaikha Dr Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Head of the Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Committee in the Sports Field, expressed her pride in the achievements of Bahraini women, emphasising the importance of perseverance and determination to uphold these accomplishments while striving for further progress, particularly in sports.
She highlighted that International Women's Day, observed annually on 8 March, serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the prominent role of Bahraini women, who have been empowered through the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She also acknowledged the instrumental role of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, in championing women's advancement across various fields.
Her Excellency praised the Kingdom’s strides in promoting gender equality, attributing these accomplishments to His Majesty the King’s visionary leadership and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa’s steadfast commitment to embedding equal opportunities and gender balance principles. These efforts, she noted, have solidified Bahraini women’s standing at both regional and international levels.
She further commended the Supreme Council for Women’s role in implementing strategic initiatives that empower Bahraini women and lauded the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s commitment to enhancing female participation in sports. This dedication, she noted, has led to notable achievements in Bahraini sports and continues to inspire future generations.
