Bahrain’s school padel team is intensifying preparations for the upcoming International School Sports Games (Bahrain 2024). Training began earlier this year in collaboration with Padel Plus Academy and under the sponsorship of GIG. 16 players are divided into six youth teams and two women’s teams, and the team represents Bahrain’s rising padel talents.
Ali Ibrahim Sharif, Board Member of the Bahrain Padel Federation and Head of the Youth and Academy Committee, expressed pride in the team's progress. "We aim to discover a new generation of players in this sport, and this tournament will offer them a valuable opportunity to shine on the international stage," Sharif noted that competing against global teams would positively impact the players’ skills and strengthen Bahrain's position in the sport.
He added, "We are fully committed to providing our players the best preparation and support, with a comprehensive training programme that includes intense sessions and friendly matches with local and international teams. We look forward to achieving top results that will make Bahrain proud."
Sharif further highlighted the significance of player participation: "This event is a wonderful opportunity to broaden the players' horizons and foster a healthy competitive spirit. We are optimistic that the results will be commendable, and we hope the players will benefit immensely from this experience."
The International School Sports Games will see widespread participation from various countries, emphasising the importance of ongoing preparations to achieve the best results. The Bahrain Padel Federation aims to promote the sport by organising regular training events and tournaments to enhance player development.
