Leading the welcome for the triumphant return of the Bahrain men’s table tennis team, the West Asian champions, on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 3, 2024, was Her Excellency Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa. As a Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Federation, she celebrated their victory in the tournament held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Khasram, President of the Bahrain Club, Dr. Moayad Al-Alawi, Director of the National Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Olympic Committee, and several Union and Club Board Members.
The women’s team also received a splendid reception later that evening, marking their outstanding victory in the same championship. The welcoming committee included the Vice President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Federation, Mr. Ali Al-Madeh, and Dr. Moayad Al-Alawi, Director of the National Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, among other distinguished members.
Her Excellency Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa lauded the victories as a continuation of Bahrain’s impressive sports achievements, attributing the success to the unwavering support from His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Their Highnesses’ commitment has been pivotal in nurturing clubs and federations across various levels, fostering Bahrain’s prominence on international stages.
She highlighted the concerted efforts of the Bahrain and Aali clubs’ management and athletes, whose dedication has not only solidified Bahrain’s stature in table tennis but also set the course towards greater accomplishments. Shaikha Hayat expressed her pride in the cooperative spirit shared among all clubs and stakeholders, aiming for excellence in representing Bahrain in international competitions. Additionally, she commended the Saar Club for securing third place in the championship, underscoring a collective drive towards sporting brilliance.
