The 6th edition of the School Games, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee, concludes today after running from September 23 to October 3, 2024. It is part of the committee's developmental plans to identify and nurture young sports talents across various athletic and Olympic disciplines.
Today's final events include 3x3 basketball, swimming, and tennis. The intense competition is expected to improve standings as the 10-day event comes to a close.
The results of yesterday's athletics competitions were as follows: in the boys' long jump event, San Colton from the American School secured first place, followed by his colleague Zaid Mohammed in second, while Joule Beno from Asia School took third.
In the 4x100m relay (girls), the Indian School claimed first place, Millennium School took second, and the New Indian School came in third. In the 1500m race (girls), Maryam Hussain from Saar School won first place, followed by Elara Marish in second and Abrar Ahmed from Al-Hidd School in third.
For the girls' long jump event, Oslin Beno from Asia School took first place, while Redika Rajesh from the same school secured second place, with Rawan Jaber from Al Ahliya School in third.
In the 200m (girls), Fatima Issa from Al-Wafa School claimed first place, Arin Beno from the Indian School secured second, and Mouza Al-Amiri from Britus School took third. In the boys' 200m event, Yassin Mohammed from Al-Bayan School came first, with Arun Jiri from the Indian School in second and Shaheen Hassan from the Indian School in third.
In the boys' long jump, Yassin Mohammed from Al-Bayan School came first, Joufarhan from Millennium School in second, and Ahmed Fayez from the Indian School in third. For the boys' 1500m race, Asif Ishaq from the Indian School won first place, Sinesh Sunil from the Indian School in second, and Ronvir Shafeehan from the Sacred Heart School in third.
In the boys' 4x100m relay, the Indian School took first place, Millennium School came in second, and Sacred Heart School placed third.
This tournament is held just days ahead of the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), the largest event of its kind. Around 5,000 students from 80 countries will compete in 25 sports. The competitions will be held across several private schools, universities, and vital sports venues.
