Bahrain's Chess Team Prepares for the International School Sports Games

Mohammed Al-Banki, Manager of Bahrain’s chess team, confirmed that the team has been preparing for the upcoming International School Sports Games for the past three months. The technical team has been supervising intensive training sessions for both boys and girls every Thursday and Saturday. Sixty players are currently part of the training program, and the best will be selected to represent Bahrain in the tournament.

Al-Banki emphasised that their goal is not just participation but to compete for top positions and win gold medals. He highlighted the focus on developing players' skills and fostering their ambitions for international success.

He also acknowledged the tough competition expected in chess with strong countries participating, but he remains optimistic about Bahrain's chances of success. He aims for this generation to be a "golden generation" in chess. The team's vision extends beyond this event, aiming to compete in future global championships.

Al-Banki concluded by stressing the importance of the International School Sports Games as an opportunity for players to gain valuable experience by competing against international talent. He also expressed gratitude for the leadership’s continuous support for Bahraini youth and sports, motivating the players to excel globally.
