Bahrain School Fencing Team Prepares with Training Camp in Uzbekistan for International School Games

The Bahrain School Fencing Team continues its intensive local preparations for the International School Games, which will be held in Bahrain from 23 to 31 October. This follows a week-long training camp in Uzbekistan from 2 to 10 October, where eight athletes (five girls and three boys) participated.

The training camp in Uzbekistan is part of the final preparations for the Games. It builds on daily sessions in Bahrain and participation in local school championships such as the "Golden Generation" tournament and the internal championship organised by the Bahrain Fencing Federation.

Coach Mohammed Al-Qattan explained that the training camp aimed to elevate the athletes’ performance levels by allowing them to gain experience competing with international players, thus honing their skills. "We hope this camp will help prepare the athletes for the upcoming competitions, particularly for the International School Games," he said.

Al-Qattan also highlighted that the team wants to compete for medals in this event, which marks the sport's first appearance in the International School Games. Preparations have included intensive technical and tactical training to ensure the athletes perform at their peak.

In conclusion, Al-Qattan expressed optimism about the future of the sport in Bahrain, stating: "We are striving to achieve medals that honour the name of Bahrain, and this camp represents a key step in reaching our goals."
