Third Day of the 6th School Games: Cricket Begins and Padel Champions Crowned

The competitions continued on the third day of the 6th School Games, which the Bahrain Olympic Committee organised from 23 September to 3 October as part of its strategy to enhance the sports sector and discover new talents in the Kingdom.

Ahmed Al-Omran School outperformed Isa bin Ali School in boys' handball with a 41-25 victory. Naeem School also secured a win over Sheikh Khalifa School with a score of 32-26.

Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, Chief Operating Officer of the Olympic Committee, presented the awards in Padel. Brights School claimed first place in the girls' division, while Shaikha Hessa School came second. Modern Knowledge School took first place in the boys' division, with Bayan School securing second.

The cricket competition kicked off with high excitement, with schools showing keen interest in establishing dominance in this increasingly popular sport in Bahrain. The tournament aims to foster sports talent for a strong foundation in the future.

In the boys' fighting competitions, the under-45 kg category saw Yousif Qamber from Abdulrahman Kanoo School secure first place, Amir Haris from Al Noor School second, and Sayed Jafar from Al Rawabi School third.


In the under-59 kg category, Murtaza Mohammed from Hamad Town School won first place, followed by Yousif Bin Taji from Modern Knowledge School in second and Saleh Ahmed from Isa bin Ali School in third.


For the under-68 kg division, Abdulaziz Mohammed from Riffa School took first place, followed by Mohammed Osama from Gulf Pearl School in second.
In the under-78 kg category, Hussain Juma from Isa bin Ali School secured first place, while Mohammed Jafar from Al Taawon School came second.

In the girls' division, Tala Qusay from Omayma School won the under-42 kg category, with Asia Hassan Saad from Al Ahed Al Zaher School in second.


In the under-52 kg category, Hessa Khalid from Bayan School took first place, with Farah Ibrahim from Riffa School in second, Malak Abdulreda from Modern Knowledge School in third, and Thajba Salim from Riffa School in fourth.


For the under-59 kg category, Yara Eyad from Choueifat School took first, while Malak Sayed from Shaikha Hessa School came second.


In the under-68 kg category, Halima Ghoneim from Riffa School took first, followed by Aisha Jassim from Al Noor School in second.

The tournament's competitions are spread across multiple venues, including Umm Al Hassam Hall for basketball and handball, Isa Sports City for beach volleyball, athletics, table tennis, chess, badminton, taekwondo, judo, and cricket, Khalifa City for swimming, and other locations like Polytechnic University for tennis, Sanad Gymnastics Hall for gymnastics, Al Jazeera Beach for cycling, and Plage Al Jazaer Beach for sailing.
