Her Excellency Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, a member of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Committee and Head of the Gender Equality Committee, expressed her pride in the remarkable representation of women in Bahrain's team for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Eight of the fourteen athletes representing Bahrain are women, highlighting the progress in gender equality in sports.
She emphasized that this achievement results from the Bahrain Olympic Committee's efforts, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to support women's sports at all levels. This support has led to significant accomplishments, including four Olympic medals, all won by Bahraini women.
"I am pleased and proud of the Bahraini team players who have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics. This moment culminates years of hard work, training, and dedication. I am confident that you will perform your best at this global sporting event," she said. "The Paris Olympics is not just an opportunity for competition but also a platform to represent Bahrain in the best possible way. Your participation is an achievement, and I wish you all the best and success in the upcoming competitions."
Her Excellency Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa also appreciated the support and follow-up of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Olympic Committee and Head of the Delegation, wishing the team success.
