His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, welcomed His Excellency Mr Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, to the Kingdom. Mr Al-Mubarqa is visiting Bahrain to attend the World Weightlifting Championships. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, His Excellency Mr Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, and Dr Ihsan Alawi Hussein, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa extended a warm welcome to the Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports. He conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. His Highness praised the strong fraternal ties between the two countries, particularly in the fields of youth and sports. He expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation between the two parties to advance the sports and youth movement. His Highness wished the Iraqi team success in the World Weightlifting Championships, which will conclude on December 15, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa also met with Mr Fidel Ylli, President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, who is visiting the Kingdom to attend the World Weightlifting Championships. His Highness extended a warm welcome to Mr Ylli and conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He noted the strong cooperation and excellent relations between Bahrain and Albania. His Highness emphasised the importance of further developing bilateral relations between the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Albanian National Olympic Committee to enhance joint sports initiatives.
To conclude the meetings, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa presented commemorative gifts to His Excellency Mr Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mr Fidel Ylli, President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee. He wished them continued success.
