The Bahrain Olympic Academy, an affiliate of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, celebrated the graduation of 81 students from six administrative and technical courses on Saturday, July 6, 2024. The event, held under the generous patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, took place at the Wyndham Grand Hotel.
The graduates were honored by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Racing Federation; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Olympic Committee; His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority; His Excellency Mr. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee; His Excellency Mr. Asimkas Asimakopoulos, CEO of the International Olympic Academy; and His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Hassan Al-Nisf, Advisor to the President of the Olympic Committee, along with numerous presidents and representatives from various sports federations and clubs.
The event commenced with remarks from Dr. Nabil Taha, Director of the Bahrain Olympic Academy, followed by an address from Secretary-General Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji. A brief video showcased the Academy’s recent accolades and educational initiatives.
The ceremony recognized graduates from several programs, including the Advanced Sports Management Diploma, Olympic Studies Diploma, National Coaches Program Lecturer Preparation Program, Olympic Mission Graduates, Physical Literacy Lecturer Preparation Program, and the Fourth Level Graduates of the National Trainers Program. Additionally, key sponsors such as the “Tamkeen” Labor Fund, the University of Bahrain, and Lucky Gulf Company were acknowledged for their support.
Mr. Asimkas Asimakopoulos delivered a speech, expressing gratitude for the invitation and highlighting the robust partnership between the International Olympic Academy and its Bahraini counterpart. He presented a commemorative gift to His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. Dr. Nabil Taha presented His Highness with a historical photograph from the signing of the decree by His Majesty the King in 198F1 that established the Bahrain Sports Institute, now known as the Bahrain Olympic Academy.
The ceremony concluded with a photo session for the graduates, marking a memorable celebration of their accomplishments and the continued growth of sports education in Bahrain.
