Eshaq Ebrahim Eshaq, member of the Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, expressed his sincere gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, for sponsoring the World Weightlifting Championships, which will be held from 4 to 15 December. Eshaq emphasised the significant impact of His Highness’s continuous support for sports events in the Kingdom, contributing to the success of such initiatives and promoting Bahrain as a global host for various sporting events, particularly weightlifting competitions.
Eshaq noted that this sponsorship is a great honour for Bahrain's weightlifting community and is responsible for ensuring that the event reflects the Kingdom's growing reputation for hosting successful international sporting events. He also extended his thanks to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the General Sports Authority, for his continuous support, which has enabled Bahrain to gain the trust of the International Weightlifting Federation to host this prestigious event.
Eshaq underscored the historical significance of this championship, marking the first time Bahrain will host a major Olympic-level sporting event for seniors, with approximately 1,000 athletes from 114 countries participating. He reiterated that the organising committee is fully committed to ensuring the success of this inaugural event in Bahrain.
