Seef District - Bahrain Olympic Committee:
The Bahrain junior handball team returned home triumphantly after securing the Arab Championship title (Zone Gulf and Levant) in Najaf, Iraq. The team clinched victory in a thrilling final match against Saudi Arabia, with a score of 30-28.
To honour their achievement, the Bahrain Olympic Committee organized a warm reception for the champions on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Bahrain International Airport. Leading the reception was Mr. Ali Isa Ishaqi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Handball Federation, along with Mr. Ahmed Abdel Ghaffar, Executive Director of Operations at the Olympic Committee.
The airport buzzed with excitement as the champions were welcomed back, reflecting the significant milestone for Bahraini handball. This victory is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the players, the technical and administrative staff, and the unwavering support of the Bahrain Handball Federation’s Board of Directors, headed by Mr. Ali Isa Ishaqi.
On this joyous occasion, His Excellency Mr. Ali Issa Ishaqi commended the team for their outstanding performance and well-deserved title, highlighting the strength and depth of handball talent in Bahrain. He attributed this success to the support and guidance of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Olympic Committee.
During the reception, Mr. Ishaqi praised the players' dedication and the technical and administrative staff's efforts. He expressed immense pride in the team’s high fighting spirit, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit demonstrated throughout the tournament. He extended his gratitude to the General Sports Authority and the Olympic Committee for their continuous support, emphasizing that Bahraini handball remains a proud representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain through its achievements on all levels.
