Bahrain Olympic Committee and Swimming Federation Launch New Olympic Pool with National Athletes

Seef District - Bahrain Olympic Committee:

In a significant enhancement to national sports infrastructure, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in partnership with the Bahraini Swimming Federation, inaugurated a new Olympic swimming pool on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at The Art Hotel & Resort located in Amwaj Island, Al Muharraq Governorate.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Mujabal, President of the Bahraini Swimming Federation, and Mr. Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, Executive Director of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The event also saw the presence of various committee directors, federation board members, athletes, parents, and enthusiasts.

The new facility was christened with a series of competitive races featuring national team athletes and amateur swimmers, all overseen by the Bahraini Swimming Federation. This event highlighted the technical capabilities and organizational prowess of the federation.

Following the races, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, alongside federation board members and Olympic Committee officials, awarded medals to the top three competitors in several categories. The ceremony was marked by a celebratory atmosphere, heralding the pool's future role in fostering competitive swimming and training.

The successful launch was attributed to the collaborative efforts of the Bahrain Olympic Committee's administrative team and the technical staff of the Swimming Federation, ensuring a seamless and festive inauguration.
