Seef District – Bahrain Olympic Committee:
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, presided over the first meeting of the Organising Committee overseeing preparations for the 2025 FIBA Congress and Celebrity Honours Ceremony. This landmark event will take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 14–18 May 2025.
At the outset, His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He extended his wishes for the committee’s success in hosting this prestigious event.
Welcoming the attendees, His Highness congratulated the committee members on their selection, commending their expertise and dedication, which will undoubtedly contribute to the event’s success. He highlighted the significance of hosting the FIBA Congress and Celebrity Honours Ceremony for the first time in Bahrain, underscoring the collaborative efforts of various ministries, government institutions, and private entities.
The meeting began with an introductory presentation by representatives of the International Basketball Federation, followed by a detailed organisational plan shared by Pico Company. The attendees also reviewed the key requirements and preparations necessary for the event.
During the discussions, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa emphasised the importance of redoubling efforts to finalise all arrangements, ensuring the Congress and the celebrity ceremony are hosted to the highest standards. He stressed the need for close cooperation and seamless coordination between all parties to ensure the comfort and convenience of the delegations, thereby showcasing Bahrain’s hospitality and capabilities on the global stage.
