A Promising Future: Bahraini Swimmer Amani Sets New Records at Paris 2024 Olympics

Bahraini swimmer Amani Al-Obaidli made an impressive debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics, recording a new Bahraini and personal best in the women's 100-meter backstroke. The 18-year-old athlete finished sixth in the qualifiers, clocking a time of 1:04.27 minutes, surpassing her previous record of 1:04.76 minutes set at the Australian Championships.

Though Amani did not advance to the next stage, her performance earned widespread respect and highlighted her potential as a future champion. Given her young age and impressive record at regional levels, Amani is a strong contender in the world of competitive swimming.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Head of the Delegation, attended the swimming competitions alongside Secretary-General Mr. Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji and other official and administrative delegation members.

Saud Salah Competes in 200-Meter Breaststroke Qualifiers

National swimming team member Saud Salah Ghali will compete in the men's 200-meter breaststroke qualifiers at the Paris La Defense Arena at 12:45 pm (1:45 pm Bahrain time). Saud, currently training in Hungary under the "Making Champions" program, aims to set a new personal record, having completed the race in 2:21.94 minutes at the World Aquatics Games in Qatar.

Since his international debut in 2016, Saud has won numerous medals, including bronze at the GCC Short Course Championship in Doha and gold at the GCC Water Games Championship in Kuwait. His achievements at the Arab level include gold at the Arab Junior Championship in Morocco, multiple medals at the Arab Short Course Championship in Abu Dhabi, and the Arab Junior Water Games Championship in Egypt.
