Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Participates in the Fourth Meeting of the Gulf Advisory Committee for Women’s Sports

Her Excellency Shaikha Dr Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the fourth meeting of the Gulf Advisory Committee for Women’s Sports. The meeting took place in the sisterly State of Kuwait on Sunday, 23 February 2025.

The agenda included a review of the resolutions and recommendations adopted by the Women’s Sports Committee during its 98th Executive Office meeting, which was held on 28 November 2024 in the sisterly State of Qatar. Additionally, the committee assessed the outcomes of the Hackathon programme, which was conducted in the Sultanate of Oman from 1 to 4 March 2024.

Discussions also focused on the latest developments regarding the electronic platform for Gulf women’s sports, as well as updates on the list of honourees for leadership and sporting achievements in the region. The committee further deliberated on and approved the 2025 work plan for the Sports Advisory Committee. Additionally, the Bahrain Olympic Committee delegation presented the “I Am Talented” program, an initiative overseen by the Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Committee in the sports sector. The meeting concluded with the scheduling of the next session and discussions on any new business.

On this occasion, Her Excellency Shaikha Dr Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa extended her sincere gratitude and appreciation to the sisterly State of Kuwait for its warm hospitality and reception. She emphasised the significance of such meetings in fostering cooperation in the Gulf sports sector, particularly in advancing women’s sports. She also commended the efforts of all GCC Olympic committees in promoting women’s participation in sports and expressed her appreciation for the dedication and contributions of the Advisory Committee members.
