The Bahrain Olympic Committee's Board of Directors has officially appointed Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar as the Executive Director of the Committee. With an extensive background that blends military precision and sports management, Abdul Ghaffar is set to steer the committee towards enhanced technical and administrative performance.
Diverse Experience and Academic Background
Mr. Abdul Ghaffar brings a robust portfolio of experience to his new role. A graduate of the Naval University for Postgraduate Studies in the United States, he has served in the Royal Bahraini Navy from 2002 until 2024. His involvement in sports administration includes roles such as Secretary of the Bahrain Swimming Federation since 2018 and Director of Bahrain’s delegation to the Asian Games "Hangzhou 2022". He is also an alumnus of the International Olympic Academy with a diploma in sports management and serves as a certified lecturer at the Bahrain Olympic Academy.
Expressions of Gratitude and Future Aspirations
Upon his appointment, Mr. Abdul Ghaffar expressed his profound gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, for the significant trust placed in him. This trust, he noted, serves as both an honor and a motivation to excel further. He also thanked the Board of Directors and the Secretary-General, His Excellency Mr. Fares Mustafa Al-Kooheji, for their confidence in his capabilities.

He emphasized his commitment to work closely with the Board of Directors, the General Secretariat, and all departments within the Committee to fulfill the collective goals and drive the continued advancement and success of Bahrain’s sports programs.
