Shaikh Isa bin Ali Arrives in China for the Opening of the Asian Winter Games

Seef District – Bahrain Olympic Committee: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for the Third Asian Youth Games (Bahrain 2025), arrived in Harbin, China, on Thursday, 6 February 2025, to attend the opening ceremony of the 8th Asian Winter Games. The event, held in Harbin, features the participation of approximately 1,275 male and female athletes from 34 countries.

On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa expressed his deep pride in attending the Asian Winter Games, which are organised under the supervision of the Olympic Council of Asia. He emphasised the significance of such sporting events in fostering stronger connections between athletes across the Asian continent.

His Highness also conveyed his delight at the Kingdom of Bahrain’s second participation in the Asian Winter Games, represented by the national ice hockey team. This follows Bahrain’s inaugural participation in the 2011 edition held in Astana, Kazakhstan. He highlighted that this achievement reflects the dedication of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in promoting various sports, including winter sports, with the aim of developing a solid foundation and ensuring Bahraini representation in international sporting events.

Furthermore, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa commended China for its exceptional capabilities and facilities in hosting the Asian Winter Games. He extended his best wishes for success to all participating Asian nations, particularly the Arab countries, as they compete in this prestigious event.
