
Seef District – Bahrain Olympic Committee:
His Excellency Mr. Fares Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, greeted a distinguished Chinese government delegation from Guangdong Province, led by Mr. Liu Hongping, Vice Governor. The group included Yousef Duaij, Chairman of the Executive Committee for the 3rd Asian Youth Games, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar, Executive Director of Operations, and Mr. Madin Al-Wanas, Director of the Technical Projects Department.
The visiting delegation included notable officials, such as Huang Mingzhong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Provincial Government; Zeng Xiaofeng, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism; Lin Ying, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau; Liu Yazhou, Interpreter at the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office; and Huang Kun, Head of the Science and Education Department of the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General warmly welcomed the delegation and discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation. The emphasis was on utilizing Guangdong's vast experience in hosting significant sports events, especially as Bahrain prepares to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games from October 22 to 31, 2025. Al-Kooheji highlighted the necessity of leveraging Guangdong's expertise to ensure the successful organization of the Games, particularly since the province will also host the Chinese Games in November, which is anticipated to draw around 30,000 athletes.
Mr. Al-Kooheji praised China’s impressive track record in managing large-scale continental and Olympic events and expressed his pride in the opportunity to collaborate with Guangdong Province. He wished the delegation a fruitful visit and a pleasant stay in Bahrain, with hopes for a continued partnership that strengthens both nations' sporting endeavors.
