Ten Arab countries will be participating in the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), which will take place from October 23 to 31 under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. 

This session is one of the largest global school sports tournaments, with over 70 countries and a total of 5,348 athletes, coaches, and referees competing in 26 different sports.

The Arab participation includes 10 nations, with Bahrain hosting the largest Arab delegation of 462 athletes. Saudi Arabia follows as the second largest with 378 athletes. The United Arab Emirates will be represented by 197 athletes, while Kuwait will have 45 participants.

Other participating Arab nations include Oman, sending 45 athletes; Qatar, with 19 athletes; Egypt, with 26 athletes; Algeria, with 94 participants; Morocco, with 89 athletes; and Jordan, with 19 athletes.

This extensive Arab involvement follows previous successes, with teams from Kuwait, Egypt, and Morocco performing notably in the Normandy Games 2022. These achievements highlight the ongoing development of school sports across the Arab world.

The "Bahrain 2024" Games will take place in world-class sports facilities, including Isa Sports City and Khalifa Sports City, which provide a high-level sports infrastructure for both athletes and spectators.

Preparations begin at Isa Sports City to host the International School Games (Bahrain 2024)

Preparations have commenced at Isa Sports City in anticipation of the International School Games, scheduled to be held in Bahrain from October 23 to 31, under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. 

The preparations include establishing the tournament’s main media centre, which will be equipped with modern facilities to aid media coverage. This center will feature live broadcast studios, work platforms equipped with computers and high-speed internet services, and provide technical and administrative support around the clock. These measures aim to ensure seamless media operations throughout the event.

Additionally, a fan zone will be set up to provide a central hub for spectators. The fan zone will host various entertainment programs, such as games and musical performances, to create an interactive experience for visitors. Fans will be encouraged to engage with the events, providing a lively atmosphere for both athletes and attendees.

The public services area will also be organised to meet the needs of visitors and participants. This zone will offer food and beverage outlets, rest areas, and information services, all managed by teams of volunteers dedicated to assisting the public. These provisions ensure that every visitor enjoys a comfortable and well-supported experience throughout the tournament.

Coordination meeting between the Housing Committee and the Volunteers Committee

Recently, a detailed meeting took place between the Housing Committee, led by Abdul Redha Ashouri, and the Volunteers Committee, chaired by Wafaa Al-Jazzaf, to finalise preparations for welcoming the delegations participating in the International School Games, set to take place in Bahrain from October 23 to 31.

Key points discussed included the timely reception of delegations, with close coordination with the Transportation Committee and relevant authorities regarding accommodation. Ensuring full readiness of meeting rooms and hotel facilities was prioritised, alongside the preparation of reservation schedules for delegation meetings.

The committees agreed that their members would be available at hotels throughout the event to address any delegation needs. Additionally, it was stressed that accurate adherence to the competition schedule was crucial to ensure smooth proceedings. Coordination with the Transportation Committee was a focus, ensuring transportation to competition sites and the provision of appropriate meals that align with training and competition schedules.

The International School Sports Federation Delegation Begins Work in Bahrain

The first group from the International School Sports Federation delegation has arrived in Bahrain to commence their collaboration with the Executive Committee of the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), which will be held from October 23 to 31. The delegation is here to review the latest preparations being carried out by the Executive Committee and the various working committees involved in the tournament.

The delegation includes Domagoj Bajaric, Director of Registration, Roman Vermont, Director of the ISF Academy, Uros Savic, Director of Events, Saurabh Mishra, Director of Sports, Justin Le Gall Jr., Sports Director, along with Martina Garziera, Manuela Bolzmi, Business Manager, and Yuan Ren, Director of Communications.

This cooperation is part of Bahrain’s extensive preparations to host this international sporting event, which aims to promote both competition and cultural exchange among students from around the world. The collaboration between the delegation and the Executive Committee is expected to ensure the success of the tournament.

The delegation is working closely with the event committees to ensure the competition sites are fully prepared and all equipment is available. Their tasks also involve secretarial duties such as the registration of delegations and issuing identification cards, along with coordinating housing arrangements through joint efforts with the working committees.

Delegations Begin Arriving for the International School Games (Bahrain 2024)

The Kingdom of Bahrain has commenced welcoming the delegations participating in the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), scheduled to take place from 23 to 31 October. The tournament will feature 80 school sports federations representing 68 countries, highlighting the global significance of the event in both sports and education.

The first delegation, representing Chile, arrived in the Kingdom late on Saturday, marking the start of arrivals. The remaining delegations are expected to arrive over the next three days, as Bahrain aims to provide a unique and exceptional experience for all participants.

This tournament is part of ongoing efforts to elevate school sports globally and offer a platform for student-athletes to compete and engage with peers from various countries. The organising committees are working diligently to ensure all facilities are ready, addressing the needs of the delegations and participants. This reflects Bahrain's commitment to delivering an outstanding tournament, in line with its strong reputation for hosting international sporting events.

Continuous Workshops for the Volunteer Committee

The Volunteer Committee for the International School Games "Bahrain 2024" has continued its preparations for the tournament by hosting various training workshops aimed at ensuring the event's success.

On Wednesday, a workshop titled "Basics of Mobile Phone Photography" was conducted by trainer Ebrahim Malallah at the National Stadium, with 100 volunteers participating. The session covered photography techniques and skills using mobile phones.

Another workshop, "Building and Developing Leadership Skills," was organised on Thursday by trainer Ali Yassin at the Muharraq Model Youth Centre. This event saw 250 volunteers focusing on enhancing leadership abilities and team management skills.

In addition, a "Firefighting and Public Safety" training workshop took place on Sunday, led by Captain Hamad Al Khalidi and Chief Sergeant Muslim Ibrahim at the Ministry of Education Hall.

These workshops are part of ongoing coordination efforts between executive committees. Volunteers were allocated to specific committees, received the necessary equipment, and held meetings with committee heads to ensure smooth operations, reflecting the strong collaboration and organisation between all parties.
