?Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar recently chaired the inaugural organizing committee meeting of the 56th ICHPER.SD Anniversary World Congress and Exposition.
The congress, scheduled to take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, from December 18 to 20, is organized in cooperation with the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (ICHPER.SD).
This three-day event will focus on the theme ‘Towards building a new sports system’, with around 800 officials from 120 countries from all over the world in attendance.
During the meeting, Askar made a brief presentation on the congress, in which he highlighted its objectives, and extended the BOC eagerness to make this international gathering – taking place in Bahrain for the first time – a great success.
Askar also noted that the BOC is looking forward to work with its new partners the University of Bahrain and the Education Ministry, to achieve the desired objectives of the congress, which will focus several scientific subjects such as marketing, professionalism, physiology and the latest in anti-doping in the field of sport.
The BOC general secretary assigned the recently-elected committees to set up their respective plans, then each committee will present what have been accomplished in the next meeting.
