?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) is organizing a series of training workshops for president of national sports federations with 2017-2020 electoral term.
This initiative is in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, to qualify Bahraini officials at their respective federations.
Board members of the sports federations will also be attending a specialized training courses in the coming stage to help them cope with administrative developments.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar is heading the preparatory committee for this project, which also includes directors and heads of the BOC departments, in an attempt to set up a plan for these workshops and courses.
Meanwhile, BOC Sports Affairs executive director Abduljalil Asad said now it’s the right time to prepare for such a project as the sports federation elections will begin right after the ongoing Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Askar noted that the upcoming workshops will be of a high standard and should focus on a number of issues related to commandership and strategic planning in accordance to the BOC new strategy.
