?A sports associations evaluation workshop, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), got underway recently at the National Stadium premises in Riffa.
BOC executive director for administrative and financial affairs Khalifa Salmeen welcomed Jordan Olympic Committee vice-president Dr Sari Hamdan, who is conducting the workshop and hailed his vast experience in the field of sports management.
Salmeen said the workshop is open for general secretaries, executive directors and specialists from the sports associations affairs at the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and expressed the committee’s keenness to have such programmes organised frequently in an attempt to activate the sports federations evaluation process.
On his part, Hamdan thanked the BOC for inviting him to run the workshop, and affirmed the significant of having such events to exchange expertise in the field of setting up plans and strategies as well as analyzing interior and exterior environment for the sports associations.
The first two days sessions of the workshop were open for the general secretaries and executive directors, and they focus on explaining balanced scorecard, a strategy performance management tool.
Other issues being presented are identifying strategic paths, high performance and the development of youth, expanding the foundation, training paths, managing human and financial resources, strategic planning, reviewing the revenue stream and practical applications on how to prepare a certain plan.
The Sports Affairs Directorate will teach the sports associations setting up strategies and the standards through which their performances will be measured, in addition to conducting tests to determine their absorption of such mechanism to help achieve the desired objectives.
