The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has recently launched a new project aimed to offer different types of quality services for national sports federations.
A unified communication project, offering a major boost in electronic communication, is now made available for five national sports federations – volleyball, table tennis, swimming, badminton & squad and sports for special needs.
BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar said the new project is in line with the directives of the committee to improve the functionality and means of communication among the staff within the federations, which will ensure quality services for their various transactions, either at the BOC or the federations.
He added that this improved system contributes to save time and effort to offer the communication among individuals and kept the employees permanently connected with the surroundings.
The system also gives directors and heads of departments the ability to follow up their work in their departments directly through their personal electronic devices, while taking necessary notes related to their environment. This will further contribute to the reduce the telephone expenses.
On his part, BOC’s IT Director Nawaf Abdulrahman said the project aims to develop the diverse communication systems at the committee and the email exchange along with the creation of new communication systems – Microsoft Office Communications Server and Microsoft Unified Messaging.
Abdulrahman stressed that the new system has various advantages, including the possibility of setting up meetings electronically by making use of audio and visual service that the system provides.
