?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) has recently launched its most advanced initiatives for national sports federations, namely the ‘Transactions System’, the committee announced yesterday (Sunday).
This initiative was as per directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, to scrap paper transactions and replace them by electronic ones.
It’s part of the committee’s plan to implement a ‘Green Policy’ and rely on electronic correspondences instead of paper transactions, being carried out by BOC’s Information Technology Department’s systems analyst Zainab Al Mosawi and engineer Arif Imteyaz.
The IT Department had a series of scheduled meetings with representatives of national sports federations to explain the main advantages of this system and its implementation.
The system aims to increase the efficiency of work and reduce the use of paperwork, work procedures programming and federation needs, in addition to tracking transactions through requests status, and providing comprehensive reports.
Al Mosawi gave a detailed report on the transactions process progress, which begin from the federations towards the sports affairs department, which in turn sends the transaction to different directorates of the BOC.
She also talked about the financial transactions associated with the budget as well as non-financial services of the clients system, such as requesting the use of sports facilities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, issuing visas and leave requests within various governmental and private sectors.
Al Mosawi explained that the new transaction system will contribute to improving the quality of the services provided by the committee, and reduces the use of paper and save time and effort, noting the importance of all the federations to be aware of these steps to achieve the desired outcomes.
