?BAHRAIN this week will host a series of significant regional meetings in an attempt to promote joint co-ordination among people of the GCC in the youth and sports sectors.
The event commences on Wednesday (MAY 15) with the Co-ordination and Follow up Committee meeting, to be followed by a consultative meeting for the Executive Office of their Highnesses and Excellencies Presidents of the GCC National Olympic Committees on Thursday.
On Friday, the 77th meeting of the Executive Office will take place, then the Undersecretaries of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers will attend their 30th meeting on Saturday.
It will be followed by the 27th meeting of their Highnesses and Excellencies Presidents of the GCC National Olympic Committees, before the curtains fall down on this regional gathering on May 20 when the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers meeting takes place.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa is heading the Bahrain delegation to their Highnesses and Excellencies Presidents of the GCC National Olympic Committees meeting.
In this meeting, several prominent sports officials will be honoured, as well as the winning GCC Sports Organising Committees of the GCC Sports and Environment Award.
Other crucial topics to be discussed at the ministers meeting, such as announcing the dates for the Second GCC Games besides the Second GCC Conference on Sport and Environment, and approving the bylaw of future sports competitions.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports general secretary Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa will be heading Bahrain’s delegation to the 27th meeting of their Highnesses and Excellencies Presidents of the GCC National Olympic Committees.
Chairing Bahrain’s side at the 30th meeting of the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers’ Undersecretaries will be General Organisation for Youth and Sports president Hisham Al Jowder.
On his part, BOC general secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa will chair Bahrain’s side at the 77th meeting of the Executive Office, while BOC sports advisor Jalil Assad heads Bahrain’s officials at the consultative meeting for the Executive Office of their Highnesses and Excellencies Presidents of the GCC National Olympic Committees.
On the sidelines of these meetings, the BOC will be launching its new strategy for the next four-year term as well as its all-new logo, while Goys is scheduled to hold a special ceremony to honour former GCC youth and sports ministers, as well as a group of young GCC pioneers in all fields.
