Director of Sports Training and Development Center at the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Nabeel Taha, assured that the renewal the agreement of teaching the fourth level of the National Coaching Program (NCP) for trainers with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) for the next two years 2017/2018 came in line with directives of His Majesty the King’s representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the BOC, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for the positive reflection the program showed in upgrading national technical cadres’ performance and skills for the past 18 years.
Taha added that the fourth level’s certificate is considered one of the top training certificates in the world for what it includes of various sports sciences and multiple functions of research which elevates a coach’s job and includes ten training courses throughout two years. They courses are: Long-term planning, Treatment and resuming activity, Strength and Physical Set-up, Periodical Planning, Psychology and Mental Training Skills, Power Systems Exercises, Environment and Sports, Sports Elite Training, Sports Leadership and Test and Analysis.
Taha stressed that the NCP in general witnessed a major shift since Shaikh Nasser was appointed a president of the BOC in 2009, as contents of the program have been updated and a group of lecturers were rehabilitated to teach first, second and third levels of the program and to participate in external research and to prepare a special list of national trainers. The program also drew admiration of many countries especially the Leadership Development Center in Saudi Arabia which asked for Bahraini lecturers and trainers’ help to organize four courses in the first level in 2017 which was listed in the annual plan of the sports training and development center.
He explained that the presence of Mr. “Peter Needle” Director of Foreign Studies Association for Canadian trainers in graduates of the fourth level ceremony and supervision on the tests is a confirmation of the excellent partnership between the Olympic Committee and the Assembly, pointing out that the training and development of the sports center currently under final tests to graduate nine new trainers from the fourth level They underwent evaluation and testing by Mr. Peter needle through oral examinations conducted by them after he performed research tasks required of them.
