?Bahrain Olympic Committee acting general secretary Abdulrahman Askar vowed to help the Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) in providing all their needs in an attempt to ensure smooth conduct of their programmes.
This came during Askar’s visit to the BTTA premises in Riffa, where he met its president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and other board members.
Shaikha Hayat thanked Askar for this visit, which underlines the strong ties linking the BOC and other sports federations.
The BTTA president commended the well-exerted efforts and continued follow up of Askar to the sports federations while offering all that would contribute to ease their tasks.
She briefed Askar on some of the current issues which the association faces, such as the weak internet coverage at all facilities of the association, as well as the lack of health insurance coverage for the players in most hospitals in Bahrain.
The damage in certain areas of the sports court and the unavailability of players rooms were some of the other topics presented to Askar during his visit.
Shaikha Hayat also presented a proposal to set up a special training programme for Bahrain’s rising table tennis players Elyas Elyasi and Khalid Sanad, and to submit an official letter to the GCC National Olympic Committees Presidents’ Executive Office requesting to put the girls table tennis competitions under the supervision of the GCC Organising Committee.
On his part, Askar said this communication is one of the objectives of the BOC, which works hard to serve spots federations in Bahrain. He noted that the main purpose of this visit was to meet the federations’ needs and to overcome all the difficulties that stand in their way in an attempt to promote their career and achieve their objectives.
