?The Anti-Doping Committee, under the umbrella of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), organized an anti-doping symposium to qualify anti-doping observers.
Held at Khalifa Sports City’s Conference Hall in Isa Town, the symposium was attended by 14 observers specialized in doping control and supervised by National Sports Medicine Centre Director Dr Khalid Al Shaikh.
Sessions were conducted by anti-doping specialist Zaynab Anwar, in the presence of Anti-Doping Committee chairman Dr Hussain Al Haddad.
The function was part of the committee’s annual plan to ensure the quality of sample testing process and inform observers on the most prominent developments in doping control regulations and apply them in accordance with certain rules and principles.
The symposium included theoretical and practical sessions in introducing global regulations applied in doping control process, and ways to sample collection and preservation, as well as filling in the forms with accurate information.
It’s one of a series of symposiums organized by the Anti-Doping Commission to raise awareness of the dangers of doping, combat it, and finding out about latest developments in identifying the samples in an attempt to eliminate this dangerous phenomenon.
