?The Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) preparatory committee, tasked at setting up safety conditions and criteria at sports gyms in Bahrain to protect them from sudden deaths and injuries, has submitted its final report to Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.
Askar, the BOC general secretary, will then present this report to another committee which is responsible to implement the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council chairman and BOC President, who ordered probe into the recent tragic deaths at a gym in the Capital Governorate.
The concluding meeting of the preparatory committee took place at the BOC premises in Seef area, and chaired by sports affairs executive director Abduljalil Asad,
Asad thanked all committee members for their efforts to prepare this report that guides the executing committee to set up the conditions for physical activity practitioners in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The committee also reviewed several ideas presented by its members, and based on these scenarios, the meeting schedule was set up to study the requirements for sports exercising on public and private levels.
