?The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) yesterday (Monday) celebrated the Labour Day by hosting a special gathering to honor a number of national Sports Federations’ most prominent employees.
Staged at the committee premises in Seef, the ceremony was held under the patronage of BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, who presented commemorative gifts to representatives of the federations.
Askar also honored a select number of the committee’s distinguished candidates from each directorate.
He conveyed the greetings of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman, and BOC president, for their efforts and contributions to the development of sports in Bahrain.
This gesture was part of the BOC strategy to show its appreciation and gratitude to the sports federations for their cooperation with the committee in managing their programmes and plans.
The committee also prepared a special programme to celebrate this special occasion, including the donation of free medical tests for a number of companies’ staff at the National Sports Medicine Centre.
