?The Organizing Committee for the Bahrain Sports Day is continuing its intensive preparations for the National Sports event, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee on February 12 in four main locations.
“The Events Committee is working hard to prepare the activities to be witnessed on the day, especially in the mini sports village that is located in the backyard of the Bahrain National Stadium in Isa Sports City,” said BOC projects manager Lounes Madene.
The activities of the village commence at 3.30 pm with a children and adults bicycle tour, to be followed by walking and running races which is open for all ages from 4.30 pm onwards.
“This year, the Bahrain Sports Day will witness entries from the American Embassy, the first of its kind since the launch of this national sporting event,” said Madene.
The Embassy will introduce the American Football, one of the most popular sports in the United States, in addition to a number of recreational and entertaining activities”.
Madene noted that the sports day will not only be limited to the mini-sports village, but the committee has identified a number of other key locations, such as the Bahrain International Circuit, where a women’s cycling tour, a women’s walking race and marathon, a karting and autocross races will take place.
Moreover, Muharraq and Al Najma clubs will play host to additional sports villages, featuring a variety of sports and entertaining activities for all members of the family in an attempt to promote the Olympic charter values and the importance of sport as a healthy lifestyle.
