Special corner for Anti-Doping Section at Charity Walk event

?The Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) Anti-Doping Section had its own corner during the Charity Walk held at Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Park in Al Hidd. The event, organised by the BOC and the British Embassy, marked the first anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.This special corner was part of the Anti-Doping Section strategy to educate athletes and the public on the dangers of drugs. The section also distributed a guide on steroids disclosure in the sports field.Section head Dr Hussain Al Haddad said this campaign was part of a plan to increase awareness that the section intends to implement to combat doping.He stressed the importance of attending such sporting events to familiarize the participants with the negative effects of doping.Al Haddad added that the corner set up by the section saw large numbers of visitors, including Britain’s ambassador in Bahrain Iain Lindsay, who praised the presence of the partition in the event.Al Haddad stressed that the 2012 London Olympics had the lowest percentage of doping cases compared to other versions , which underlined the growing awareness among athletes on the dangers of this scourge, and promotes the success of the Olympics in all respects.
