?Bahrain Olympic Committee member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa today (Oct. 2) will head for Kuwait to attend the GCC Women’s Sports Organising Committee.Accompanied by BOC International Affairs executive co-ordinator Mohammed Al Zayed, Shaikha Hayat will be attending this meeting on Friday (Oct. 4) on the sidelines of the First GCC Women’s Handball Championship in Kuwait.Several issues relevant to GCC women’s sports will be discussed at this meeting, including the 16th report of the GCC Women’s Sports Organising Committee, as well as following up matters related to the GCC Women’s Handball Championship, to be held from October 3 to 8.The committee will also hold talks on the Second edition of the GCC Women’s Championship that will take place in Muscat from November 9 to 15, and the Second GCC Women’s Basketball Championship in Kuwait from May 3 to 7, in 2014 .Following the meeting, Shaikha Hayat will travel to Sharjah, in the UAE to head the first meeting of the Supervising and Follow-up Committee of the Second Arab Women’s Games, which will be hosted in Sharjah in 2014.The Second Arab Women’s Games will feature seven sporting events, namely athletics, shooting, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, fencing and Arrow & bow.The supervising and follow-up committee consists of Arab National Olympic Committees assistant general secretary Saad Sufyani, Arab League Youth and Sports Director Mohamemd Slaih, Wejdan Al Dahkouni of the UAE Olympic Committee, UAE Youth and Sports Organization representative Khalid bin Hussain, Games director Nada Askar, Players Eligibility Committee chairman Ali Oman and committee secretary Dr Basil Al Shaer.
