?Bahrain Olympic Committee member and women’s sports committee chairwoman Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa will attend Afro-Asian Conference on Women’s Sports, due to take place in Kuwait from today (Nov. 18 ).Shaikha Hayat has travelled to Kuwait  as per an invitation from the Olympic Council of Asia, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa to joint this three-day conference.Being accompanied by BOC international affairs executive coordinator Mohammed Al Zayed, Shaikha Hayat will be among more than 100 participants from two continents organising research meetings and take part in workshops involving select leaders of sports organizations in the both continents, according to the members of the Organizing Committee.The Olympic movement is betting heavily on this international conference, which is held under the patronage of Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) President, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) chief and Kuwait Olympic Committee President Shaikh Ahmad Al Fahd Al Ahmad Al Sabah of Kuwait.The event is held in cooperation with the OCA, ANOC, and the IOC, which deal with an extremely important topic of women’s sport in the world, and how to develop and broaden the participation of women at all levels as is reflected in the evolution of the sport and the communities.The conference will see extended meetings involving the Olympic Council of Asia, and the International Olympic Committee, the Association of National Olympic Committees in Asia, on Tuesday and Wednesday.The sessions will provide research papers dealing with the reality of women’s sports and ways of upgrading this arena with the participation of leaders of sports organizations in the two continents, in addition to prominent researchers and players who have achieved global results in sports championships.On the last day of the conference session, there will be an open discussion on what has been achieved in women’s sports, and their future, and discuss the upcoming plans to enable women to expand their sports in the African and Asian continents.The committee stressed the conference offers a global platform for exchange of ideas and experiences and research highlighting the reality of women’s sports in the world, and ways to support, develop, and increase the participation of women in administrative and technical fields during Olympic tournaments and various international forums.The committee stressed the Afro-Asian Conference for Women’s Sport is working on completing preparations and is termed as one of the most successful conferences in the history of the Olympic movement.
