?Bahrain Olympic Committee Board member and Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa stressed the importance of coordination between the General Organization for Youth and Sports and the Bahrain Olympic Committee to make the most of the Kingdom of Bahrain Talents Identification Programme in order to boost sports movement in Bahrain.This came during Shaikha Hayat meeting with programme supervisor Salama Atiq and administrator Wafa Al Jazzaf, who presented the main activities of this programme, which is organized by the General Organization for Youth and Sports.Both officials also briefed Shaikha Hayat on the venues hosting the training sessions in seven different sports – basketball, handball, football, table tennis, taekwondo, karate and weightlifting.Shaikha Hayat commended the important role played by the General Organization for Youth and Sports, headed by President Hisham Mohammed Jowdar, in adopting this program and providing all the necessary resources to make it a success.He noted the efforts of Atiq and Wafa in overseeing this ambitious program, which represents the core of the sports development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.Shaikha Hayat also said that she was pleased to see the good turn up from several young gifted girls in different sports in the programme, and praised the mechanism of the players selection via competent training in various sports, which acts as distinctive in preparing the players physically and technically.During the meeting, both parties discussed many ideas and proposals that aim to develop the support of the programme’s talents, one of which is the possibility of increasing the practice days in all seven centers in order for the players to have more training doses that would raise their technical levels in this programme.
