?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar said he is proud of what the committee has accomplished over the last electoral cycle in terms of controlling and rationalizing expenses to face the lack of financial resources.
In his statement, Askar also thanked Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, for commending the committee efforts to manage with the available budget.
“I am extremely honored to work under His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and I am confident that what has been accomplished in the field of executive performance was a result of His Highness’ directives, aimed at developing the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s system,” said Askar.
Askar noted that the remarkable sporting achievements of the committee in the era of Shaikh Nasser, the most significant of which is marked by Maryam Jamal at the 2012 London Olympics and Ruth Jebet and Kirwa four years later at Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
The BOC general secretary concluded his statement by promising Shaikh Nasser to continue the hard word in order to achieve the desired objectives and put Bahrain on the world sports map.
