?The technical committee of the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports holds its second meeting today (Sep. 28).
To be held at the Regency Hotel, the meeting will be chaired by general secretary of the award Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar.
It will be also attended by committee members – Dr Hazza Mohammed, Dr Sari Hamdan, Dr Mohammed Hassanein and Dr Ahmed Al Sharif.
Among subjects to be discussed today is a report on the first meeting held at the beginning of August, 2013, as well as reports from the arbiters on the participating researches this year, and preparing final report for the award.
The technical committee also finalised the names of the arbiters for the award, adopted by the Bahrain Olympic Committee in line with the visions of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamada Al Khalifa, to link scientific research with the Bahraini sports.
Other issues to be reviewed are the researches taking part in all three specialties – sports management, sports training and sports medicine, and choose those that are compatible with the methodology standards adopted in the regulation on the award.
The Committee also approved the forms for the assessment of researches, and discussed the statute of the award, as well as the observations and proposals for development, in addition to discussing the amendments required by the regulation in case the award is promoted to a global level.
