Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, said the Kingdom of Bahrain has become a favourite nation to host different regional, continental and world sporting events.
Shaikh Nasser noted that importance of Bahrain organizing the next World Under-19 Volleyball Championship, to be held from August 18 to 27, which boosts the country’s reputation on the world sport map.
Shaikh Nasser said hosting this particular event in Bahrain is a clear evidence of the International Volleyball Federation’s trust in Bahrain’s ability to organize world-class sporting competitions, which adds more responsibilities to the kingdom to further promote its remarkable reputation.
He added that he has full faith in the Bahraini people’s ability to pull off this event and make it a very successful one, especially in line with its expertise and with highly skilled human resources and infrastructure at the highest levels.
Shaikh Nasser said the Bahrain team, who recently won the Arab Under-19 Championship, will face a tough challenge in this coming event with the best squads to battle for the world’s most prestigious volleyball tournament.
Shaikh Nasser, who invited all the Bahrain volleyball fans to flock to Khalifa Sports City to support its team in this major international volleyball event, commended the national campaign to motivate the fans and support the national team, and wished the Bahrain team success.
