?Supreme Council for Youth and Sports second deputy chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee honorary president Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa congratulated the kingdom’s leadership on the Bahrain National Athletics Team’s winning the 23rd Asian Athletics Championship.
The nationals made a strong impact at the continent’s biggest athletics event, staged in Doha, where they took 22 medals in total, including 11 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze to top 41 nations taking part – including favourites China.
Shaikh Isa stressed that the distinguished historic achievement is the fruitful outcome of the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.
He expressed pride in the tremendous efforts exerted by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), to enhance the sports sector, wishing him further success.
Shaikh Khalid Isa affirmed that the historic achievement came as a result of the continuous support provided by the wise leadership and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the youth and sports sector in general and to athletics sports in particular, contributing to the efforts supporting the Bahraini sports in taking steady steps forward and achieving more regional and international accomplishments.
