?The awards ceremony for Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work is all set to take place today (Sunday) with 70 top sports candidates with regional, continental and international posts to be honored at Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq.
The awards ceremony is organized by the Bahrain Olmypic Committee (BOC) and is dedicated to sports officials with prominent overseas posts for over four years.
Today’s programme, which tips of at pm, will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.
The organising committee of the award has completed its preparations for this special 90-minute function. Other high-ranking sports officials were also invited to attend the event.
Abdulrahman Askar head of the Advisory Committee and BOC general secretary, said he is proud to bring this distinctive gathering which is regarded one of the most significant occasions organized by the BOC to celebrate a select number of leading sports figures with prominent influence on the international level.
skar noted the importance of this award among the Bahrain sport society as it’s named after Shaikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the second vice-chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and BOC honorary president, who is known as one of the founders of sports movement nationally, regionally and continentally.
