?Module 2 of the Sports Bodies and Federations Management Programme concluded recently with 27 men’s and women’s coaches from different sports clubs and national federations taking part.
The programme, organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), and is part of the committee strategy to prepare and qualify administrative cadres.
Defining and connecting the athlete path way to federation operations is the main theme of this module, which was developed by the WAoS, and meets the specific training needs that National Sporting Federation Managers face.
It’s split into three modules, each of five days duration. The first module topic, which was held last October, was strategy, national and international stake holder identification and management.
The third and last module, scheduled to take place from January 26 to 30, 2014, highlights the federation commercial, event operations and integrated planning and measurement.
Consultation with the Bahrain Olympic Committee has led to agreement on the dissemination of standardized best practice through this programme, while will lead to greater success and sustainability across the National Sporting Federations.
Participants would achieve several benefits from attending the programme, such as developing management skills specific to their sporting organization.
It also helps understanding how the Olympic Committee can support the administration of National Federations through standardized process and requirements, besides learning the management principles required to successfully manage the athlete pathway in their sport.
