Sayyar attends sports conference

Dr Abdulrahman Sayyar, General secretary of the Nasser bin Hamad Scientific Research Award in the field of sports recently attended the 11th International Conference Sports Sciences in Amman, in Jordan.
More than 130 Arab delegates attended the two-day conference, organized in cooperation with Association of Physical Education Colleges in Arab Universities under the theme: “Integration in Sport Sciences.”
Dr Sayyar, who was among spokesmen at the conference, said the event conference focused on the integration of sport sciences for better performance in a number of related fields such as sports training, sport media, physical education for special needs students, physical education curricula, sport injury and rehabilitation among others.
“The conference aimed to bring together leading scientists, scholars, researchers, and experts to share and discuss ideas, knowledge and research results in sport science and physical education,” said Dr Sayyar.
In his speech, Dr Sayyar, took this opportunity to promote for Nasser bin Hamad Scientific Research Award in the field of sports.
The award was launched in 2012 by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President.
It is in recognition of the scientific research and its role in sport development in Bahrain in three key areas – sports management, sports training, and sports medicine.
In accordance to his vision while seeking excellence, Shaikh Nasser directed to launch this award in its second edition to become open to participants from all over the Arab region on one hand, and support Bahrainis below 25 years to engage in research work, on the other hand.
